Exhaust got loud after a speed bump, should I weld or replace?

Hit a nasty speed bump in Al Nahyan last week and ever since then my 2016 Wrangler sounds like a tractor. It's not just a little louder, it's like the whole muffler fell off, and I can feel the vibration through the floor. I crawled under and saw that a hanger snapped and there's a small crack near the flange. I was about to order a whole cat back system online but a friend told me to check out a place that does affordable exhaust system repair before spending big money. Honestly I was skeptical because I've been burned before by cheap fixes that lasted a month, but they welded it and replaced the hanger for a fraction of what a new system costs. It's been quiet for two weeks now. My question is whether welding a crack like that is a long term fix or if I'm just delaying the inevitable. Has anyone here had a weld last for years? Also does the heat in summer make cracks more likely to come back? Would rather know now than get surprised on a road trip.
